Section #1 – restaurant around us
As a local host here we reveal our day to day favourites restaurants/ coffee shops and chill places near „Agnes apartment”.
Breakfast coffee at Magnet Bank public terrace or coffee under hundreds years old trees at Matinee coffee shop.
Lunch menu options between 12am to 2 pm at Vietnam cousins represent VinVin other option could be Regős Restaurant, which is a traditional Hungarian restaurant .
Dinner option could be Millenium de Pippo italian, Haveli indian or hungarian cusine at Király100.
Dessert or sweets: traditional jewish bakery called Sommer (no English site, so open Mo-Fr 9am 7pm Sa and Su 10am – 7pm)
Section #2 – around Liszt Ferenc Square (10 mins walk)
Everyone has different tastes. As a local, we recommend these two restaurants because we have been here several times and we like them. The restaurants in Liszt Ferenc Square are a bit more expensive, but of course they offer more gastronomy.
MENZA
Hungarian comfort food updated and served up with panache in a large, buzzing restaurant which has been busy morning, noon and night since they opened for business nearly a decade ago. Reliably filling portions of Hungarian standards, adapted to modern tastes, plus a reasonably priced, well chosen Hungarian wine list are part of Menza’s appeal. A great spot for people watching on Pest’s lively pedestrian strip (we saw actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers there not long ago) the funky retro interior and spacious outdoor seating, draws in the customers – as do their very reasonably priced business lunches.

VIAN
It’s not just Café Vian’s location on the sunny side of the street that makes it one of our favourites on the Tér. A whole week can be spent over a coffee or cocktails enjoyed outside under the shade of a verandah, or in the spacious interior with its comfortable, loungey interior. The menu of wholesome pastas and salads is better than you might have had any right to suspect. The framed paintings on the wall look like they were salvaged from an early 1980s fashion and design school. Maybe it’s all coming back – said paintings are also for sale.
